Worcester Canoe Club invite you to take part in our special challenge event, the Worcester Ring Challenge.
The full 21 mile Ring departs from our clubhouse in Worcester, then joins the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, before paddling along the Droitwich Canals (which only reopened in 2011 following decades of campaigning and work by local people). On the way you will see Worcester Cathedral as you pass through the city, then out into the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. There are locks (lots of them), tunnels, weirs (to portage) and bridges, making it a great challenge event.
We also offer the Offerton Cruise, which is 15 miles with a shuttle provided (i.e. we take you back to your car at the end).
The event is fully supported and high quality. It will be timed and we will publish the results. Whether you want to try and get a quick time or just enjoy the challenge is up to you.
We look forward to welcoming K1 and K2 paddlers, Stand Up Paddleboarders, cruisers and tourers, and maybe people just out for a pleasant paddle. It is a tough event and not suitable for beginners unfortunately.
We provide:
- Free car parking
- Shuttle for the shorter paddle – not this year
- Signposted and marshalled route
- Laminated route card
- Food stops en route
- Hot food at the finish
- Hot showers and changing rooms at finish
- Free Souvenir with the Worcester Ring logo
- Event timing
- Photos to download
Any questions just email worcesterring@hotmail.com.
