Your start point
Full Ring (21 miles) – starts at Worcester Canoe Club
Offerton Cruise (15 miles) – starts at Offerton
We have arranged free car parking on the Worcester Racecourse (known as Pitchcroft).
Please note that the car park is approached from the other side of the racecourse from the Canoe Club. If you are paddling the full 21 mile route you will start and finish from the club, so you can park there all day. If you are doing a shorter route it is more complicated – see “Shuttle to the shorter routes” below.
Directions to Canoe Club Parking (21 mile route)
The easiest way to get here is to come off the M5 at junction 7 and follow signs to the city centre. Once you have passed the cathedral get into the right hand lane then follow the signs to A449 Kidderminster. You will turn off right just before the main bridge, so you will have the River Severn immediately to your left. Stay in the left hand lane.
High-sided vehicles only (7 foot or more – including boats!) – you will park at the Canoe Club itself. Take the next Left turn into Grandstand Road, under the railway arches then drive to the end. A marshal will direct you where to park. WR13EJ.
All other vehicles please use the parking at the Racecourse. Keep on the main road under the railway arches, you will shortly see the racecourse railings to your left. Turn left into Severn Terrace then immediately left into the public car park by Ostler’s restaurant. Go through the car park, straight ahead, enter the racecourse itself (drive over the grass where the horses would run) and you may park on the large open area in the racecourse. WR1 3EH
Directions to Offerton (15 mile route) WR3 8SX
The easiest way is to exit the M5 at junction 6 then follow the signs to Droitwich A4538 also labelled as the Rugby Ground and Park and Ride. You need to drop your boat off at least an hour before your schedules start. We look after your boat while you then drive to the Canoe Club to park your car and register. We then transport you back to your start at Offerton.
This is a bit faffy, but it means when you finish paddling at the club, your car is there and waiting, you can eat, shower and go.
